The Transforming Power of Icons for Bible Study, Catechesis, and Prayer

Icons have been described as theology in line and color. They are the visual language of Eastern Christianity and are growing in appreciation by all Christians. This presentation will teach participants the practice of
attentively and receptively gazing upon icons so that the experience leads to meditation, prayer, and spiritual transformation. Techniques will be offered for using icons in parish ministry and faith formation.

Calling all Catechetical Leaders, Catechists.

We invite you to an in-service, reflection, and appreciation day on Sunday, September 25th with John Collins sponsored by Sadlier.  It will be at the Mercy Center in Madison and coincides with the Pope’s Jubilee for Catechists in Rome.  The day is designed for catechetical leaders and catechists.  We hope that you will take advantage of this day and send your catechists to renew themselves and refill their faith formation toolboxes. Catholic Girl Scouts Religious Program Day

Saturday, October 29, 2016,  8:30am to 4pm St. Bridget School, Manchester CT

Come and enjoy a day filled with faith & fun!  All Girl Scouts (any age, any faith) who are interested in earning the Catholic religious emblem (certificate, pin and patch) are welcome.  Bring a water bottle and bag lunch; snacks will be provided.  Project books will be available for purchase.  Please dress appropriately for possible outside activities.  Boy Scout Retreat Day

Saturday, October 29, 2016 at St Bridget School in Manchester.

Registration will begin at 8:00am and we will end at 3:30pm. This will be a great opportunity for Catholic Scouts in Cub, Boy, and Venture crews to have fun while learning more about their Catholic Faith. This day will not only meet the requirement for those needing a retreat for the Ad Altare Dei but will also be a Duty to God requirement for those who require it. Some material for the Ad Altare Dei will also be covered. Please bring your own bag lunch. Snacks, water and juice will be provided during the day.
