The Office of Religious Education:

  • Focuses on the mission and ministry of Jesus Christ and His Church in proclaiming the Good News of the Kingdom of God.

  • Exists to assist the Archbishop in carrying out his catechetical responsibilities as Chief Catechist of the Archdiocese.

  • Is charged with the ministry of training, enabling, supporting and guiding parish catechetical leaders in their ministry of life-long Catholic faith formation.

  • Enrollment in the Catholic Biblical School and St. Thomas Seminary's Certificate in Biblical Studies has reached 175 students for academic year 2011-12.

  • RCIA Workshop: The January workshop for the Period of Purification and Enlightenment had to be re-scheduled due to a snow storm. We will have a longer RCIA Workshop on March 3, 2012 from 9am to 3 pm. This workshop will cover both the periods of Purification and Enlightenment and the Period of Mystagogy.   • LAY MINISTRY CONTINUING EDUCATION All commissioned lay ministers are invited to gather for an evening of reflection as we celebrate the season of Lent. The presenter will be Ms. Meg Lyman, the date is March 7, 2012 from 7 to 9 pm at the Archdiocesan Center at St. Thomas Seminary, Bloomfield.   • Open to the Public: Is Natural Disaster God’s Punishment for Sin? A Celebration of Sacred Scripture March 25, 2012, 12:00-4:30 pm. Advance Registration Required by March 16, 2012. Forms will be available here soon.

  • RCIA Retreat Day for Catechumens, Candidates and Team members will be Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 9am to 2 pm. A $15.00 charge per person helps cover the cost of the lunch that will be provided. Please pre-register for this event by March 19, 2012. by clicking here.

  • Adult Confirmation Classes The Archdiocesan Adult Confirmation classes for the spring will begin the week of April 9, 2012. Classes are offered in three locations and run for six weeks.
